About Naomi
My experience in counselling started in the 90s as part of an Employee Assistance Program. I have worked in varied roles in the public, private and non-profit sectors, including leadership, mental health clinical work, change management, and holistic health. Having worked in a range of roles helps me relate to people from all walks of life.
Completing seven years of tertiary study and internship has enabled me to specialise in mental health.
The origin of the word ‘health’ means ‘to make whole’. Both mental and physical disorders can reveal where are lives have become out of balance. Through psychotherapy, I work with people to reclaim their inherent health and wholeness.
Whether you are struggling with a diagnosed mental health disorder or are simply feeling stressed, I can help you to create a rich, meaningful life. Clients have told me they appreciate my warm, compassionate approach. The changes they make to their lives continue to inspire me. There is a pathway to living well, regardless of the challenges thrown your way. Recovery does not happen in isolation but through relationships – come work with me and together we will discover what living well means to you and how to step into that.

Treatment approach
My clinical approach is grounded in scientific evidence and applies the leading-edge psychological intervention called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is one of the cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT). Rigorous research across 40 years shows ACT to be an effective treatment for a range of psychological issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, chronic pain, and substance use. ACT incorporates mindfulness, acceptance and behavioural change to help people recover and build the life they want. My approach is flexible and tailored to your needs.
